When I was a kid I used to fantasize being "wonderwoman". I'd skip and run and whisper to the wind "I have to save those people," "I have to save those people"....I would throw away my belt like it had powers and hold on to my headband pretending it could send an enemy to another planet. I'd go to bed dreaming of flying and floating and of my superhero friends. Superman would be standing right in front of me and we'd be planning how to protect the universe from harm. I must admit, I have kept the dream and in my heart I am trying to be a superhero and I believe I am, well to my family and friends I believe I am.

Now before you start giving me a specialist's number and clinic address to have my brain checked for lesions and test me for hallucinations let me make it clear "I really am wonderwoman!" HAHAHA...gee viewing MAN OF STEEL has somehow affected my neurons not to mention my hormones. That man wearing a red cape with closed fists and a face that could make any woman freeze- Superman, this time played by Henry Caviil has sent my soul to an entirely different place where Earth's salvation could be entrusted to someone conceived out of this world and sent to ours.

The mom in me cried as I listened to the two women, Ayelet Zurer and Diane Lane who played superman's biological and adoptive mothers respectively speak of their love for him. The film portrays parent and child devotion in the most touching way.

"The world is too big mom."
"Then make it small, focus on my voice pretend it is an island out in the ocean. Can you see it?"
 "I see it."
.....decide what kind of man you wanna grow up to be Clark, whoever that man is,
he's gonna change the world...

Oh the romantic side of the story with Amy Adams playing as Lois Lane awakens every woman's dream of being swept off their feet by someone strong enough to crush the sturdiest of elements yet gentle enough to look you in the eye, heal you instantly and lay his life for you.

Man of Steel official Synopsis
"Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world's beacon of hope - Superman."

Man of Steel Official Trailer #2 (2013) - Superman Movie HD
I must admit I am not such a fan of cars flying in the air and men smashing each other and aircraft exploding but all in the spirit of making kids realize that goodness eventually conquers evil I would say the movie is a must see for the whole family.

In reality we may not have super powers but beginning with ourselves and doing one good deed a day, together, we can save the world!

from our humble world
to yours
